Beetle love

I thought it was time for some mood changing polish and this beauty is from Models Own and is called Purple Blue Beetle Juice.
I tried to catch all the nuances with my camera and as its name says it should be purple and blue shades.

I really adore this lacquer because it has shades of red, purple and blue in it and it just makes you turn you fingers discover and admire its beauty.

Crackle gradient - or at least a try

A few days ago I made my nails glossy with my nail buffer. Here's how they turned out, very shiny and it's with no polish on ;)
So I hadn't had black nail for a looong time so that's what I put on. As you might be able to guess, it wasn't enough, I had to do something on top of the black.
So I got this idea, a crackle gradient. On my left hand I think the gradient looked nice but there wasn't very much crackle.
On the other hand I thought the crackle went much better but not the gradient. Well, I'll have to do it again some other time to try to make it better.
The lacquers I used are: Rival de Loop - 30 and OPI - Turquoise Shatter.

Swatching my mums old polishes

I decided to swatch my mums' old polishes. Years ago she told me that I could use them as much as I wanted.
Now I finally did
6 of the lacquers are Constance Carroll Diamond Gloss and it surprised me how nice the consistency is after all these years. The colours are called Plum Wine, Sunburst, Sunglow, Copper Dust, Firebird & Ruby Sorbet. They're all redish shimmer polishes and Ruby Sorbet has gold shimmer in it. The last four lacquers are random brands and one of them also had a great consistency while the three others was awful. You can also see this in the pictures.
I'm not really a fan of red/pinkish polishes but some of them were kind of nice :)

Kiko from Milan

Hello there.

I got home from Milan yesterday morning and now I want to show you which polishes I got there.

I only went to Kiko's where I got 5 polishes. They only cost €2,5 and they contain 11 ml. How can you not love Kiko? (rhetorical question) They have soo many different colours and also make-up.
I also bought a small glass nail file because my other one has vanished ;( It also only costed €2,5. How awesome is that :)
The Kiko lacquers I got, from left to right: no. 235, 240, 300, 341, 342
And from the front. Orange with gold shimmer, red, dark blue-turquoise-ish with shimmer, blue-turquoise-ish very ocean like & turquoise-green-ish
Yesterday I painted a little skull on one of my nails before I removed my polish(heavy metal). I used my black nail art pen.
Here's what it looked like:
 Do you like it? :)

Here's a pic of the nail file so you can see how big/small it is. I think it's a bit larger than the one I had before.
On the pic I've wearing Kiko no. 341, I just loove the colour, very fresh, summerlike and waterish. Adorable :)
It's like my camera doesn't catch the turquoise in the lacquer. Just imagine it with a hint of green ;)
Does any of you know the brand Kiko and how do you like it?
It's from Milan and they have stores in Italy, France, Spain, Germany and Portugal. (Here's a store locator from their website - look how Italy is totally spammed with Kiko shops :b)

Heavy Metal in Milan

A little update from Milan.
A few days ago I did this mani, Heavy Metal from Pieces. The lacquer is a silver shimmer, darker than normal. Maybe it has a black base, but it's very hard to see because it contains so much shimmer. It's awesome :)
I finished it off with Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat - a polish that I have learned to love(!!!!) very fast - because you don't really have the time to sit and wait for your polish to dry when you're on vacation, at least I don't ;)
It kinda matches a castle we went to see :b

My mani also went with me on some museums :b
Well, that's it for today.
I hope you're all enjoying your holidays.

Opi Turquoise Shatter mixed with an apology

First I want to apologize for not writing a single post in almost two weeks. The reason for this is that I've been on a camp for a week and then I had one day at home and now I'm in Milan. I got internet in the Hotel but at least you get this one post. After I get home on Monday, I'll write some more.
I did this mani last night with  Rimmel - 60 Seconds 605 Purple Reign and topped it with OPI - Turquoise Shatter which is a very very lovely shimmer crack polish. I also used Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat which is absolute amazing :)

I had some fun with my camera :b

Hello frenchie. Long time no see

Today I did a classic french mani and I can't even remember why, but I think it turned out pretty cute.

I might keep this mani for some days ;)
I used Depend - no. 31 and Rimmel - Lycra French Manicure 442 French Rose

I also did my toes today.
Barry M - Berry Ice Cream and H&M Blue Wave
Because of the sheerness of Blue Wave it is on top of Berry Ice Cream, which is a pastel pinky purple. Now it's purple without the extra pink. Even though Blue Wave is so sheer, it really has lots of lots of shimmer in it - blue and purple shimmer. Adorable.
The shimmer was very hard to 'catch' with the camera but I hope you can see it in the pictures below :)

I have no idea why, but this picture insisted on turning the wrong way -.-'
Enjoy your summer! :)

Lazyness and green glitter polish

I've been lazy at the moment especially with blogging. My apologies.
On Sunday I was shopping and I accidentally unintentionally bought 5 lacquers, uups.
Anyway, they were really cheap so I thought it was okay.
From left to right: H&M - Blue Wave, H&M - Sea Pearl, H&M - Ocean Sand, Gosh - 548 Green Hawaii, Gosh - 546 Rainbow
The H&M lacquers contain 11 mL and I got them for only 10 kr each(about £1,2 or $1,9) and I got the Gosh for only 15 kr each(about £1,8 or $2,8) and I'm very happy about that. I also bought Rainbow for Stine :)
Blue Wave is a baby blue lacquer with shimmer in blue and purple, Sea Pearl also contains shimmer. It's hard to see if it's holographic or just pink/peach, I'm gonna have to find out when I try it on. Ocean Sand is a brown base with silver shimmer. Green Hawaii is a fresh green with holo glitter in all of the rainbows' colours and at last but not least Rainbow is a flakie which shines mostly in orange nuances.
Blurry photo of Green Hawaii to see some of the amazing glitter
I had to try Green Hawaii out immediately :)
Again blurry to see the effect

With matte top coat on my ring finger and pinkie
I hope you are enjoying your holiday :D

Lacquers I used yesterday

Hey guys
I lined up the lacquers I used last night to the sponging. Here you can see them :)

The Depend without a visible number is the green to the right

My first sponging + more

Today I came up with this cute design but the tape I used to make straight lines ruined the polish a bit because it wasn't dry enough.
I used the lacquers from Pieces - Soul Petrol, Highland Green & Red Berries and from H&M - White
Anyway, I ended up removing this mani quite fast and made a mani with stripes and sponging gradient.
This is my first time to try sponging - at least on nails :b I think it went pretty well except that the neon colours on my pinkie became too dark because there were too many layers of different neon colours.
The colours I used are:
Depend - no. 34, 35, 54, 131, 133, 159, 193, 223, 247, & that green colour again where the number has been worn out
H&M - Purple
Pieces - Red Berries
Models Own - Purple Mystique
Rimmel - Lycra Pro 312 Ultra Violet, 60 Seconds 605 Purple Reign & 60 Seconds 825 Sky High
Kiko - 333
Barry M - 308 Berry Ice Cream
Tiger - no. 17
Sally Hansen - Blue Me Away!
Essie - Turquoise & Caicos
Gosh - 597 Miss Minty
Rival de Loop - 55

Summer green nails

Today(and last night) I did this manicure.
I think it's a lovely summer green mani which just cheers you up.
As a base I used Nubar - Reef Green
Then I stamped with gold stamping lacquer(unknown brand) and made details with Depend - no. 83 and Gosh - 572 Golden Bronze. As a finish I highlighted with Depend - no. 45

On the other hand I stamped with silver but it's very hard to see. I also think the gold makes it more warm and summer-like and the silver makes it more cool and not-so-summer-like ;)

XL plate for me! ^^

Hurray! Today my XL plate arrived in the mail with 5 special lacquers for stamping.
Today is also the day I got summer holidays and of course that means, more time for nails. So I had to try out two new lacquers which I accidentally bought today. Oops
Depend - no. 223 and 247 which I bought today
My XL plate with lacquers (black, white, blue, silver & gold)

My nails with Depend no. 223, 247 and 131. Design made with tape
Of course it wasn't enough to just paint my nails in different colours. I had to try my XL plate. Well, my XL stamper hasn't arrived yet so I used my small one. It's not really that good but so what, right? I can always remove it :b
When I was cleaning the plate I found it hard to remove the polish in those tiny ridges there are in some of the designs.
Does anyone have a tip for how you can clean the tiny details in stamping plates? :)
