Very first leopard print

So I finally got some real nail brushes - a set of 15 brushes very cheap on eBay.

For the following design I used the first brush from the left.
Polish: H&M - Aqua, and the black: Rival de Loop - 30.
This is my very first leopard print ever. I started on my thumb and worked my way to my pinkie. I think you can see it gets better after a few nails :)
So what do you guys think? And do you also hand paint you leopard prints? :)

Crackle gradient - or at least a try

A few days ago I made my nails glossy with my nail buffer. Here's how they turned out, very shiny and it's with no polish on ;)
So I hadn't had black nail for a looong time so that's what I put on. As you might be able to guess, it wasn't enough, I had to do something on top of the black.
So I got this idea, a crackle gradient. On my left hand I think the gradient looked nice but there wasn't very much crackle.
On the other hand I thought the crackle went much better but not the gradient. Well, I'll have to do it again some other time to try to make it better.
The lacquers I used are: Rival de Loop - 30 and OPI - Turquoise Shatter.

Bond, James Bond

Today I'm having a James Bond Marathon and of course I need matching nails ;)
Here's what I came up with:

If you can't tell  it's the gun barrel you always see in the beginning of the movies :)

Again everything is free hand with my little brush and I used the lacquers: Rival de Loop - 30, Depend - white & red (the numbers have been worn out)

My right hand. I tried to do a matching design but I kinda screwed it up. Two of the fingers got smudged when I applied top coat but let's just pretend it's on purpose and it looks like blood ;)
I finished it off with Seche Vite fast dry top coat.
So how do you guys like it? :)

Geeky Math Camp nails

Today I did a mani inspired by fractals, a topic we learned about on a Math Camp - one week just before I went to Milan :)
This is the first mani I've done with a small brush, not just the one from the lacquers. The brush is a single-use brush, the ones that's used when you can get a make-up in a store. I think it was actually for eye liner, but who cares, it worked brilliantly ;)
With thumb mattified

For those who can't see or don't know what it' supposed to look like: the thumb is Kochs' snowflake, index is pi, middle is the Sierpinski triangle, ring is the Mandelbrot set and the pinkie contains Greek letters: alpha, beta, omega, lambda and rho.
Before the ring finger got extra effects ;)
I think I tried with 'a step' too much on this one, if you understand what I mean. I tried to make spikes so it would be like step four on the background paper, but I think I should have stopped at step three. Sadly I didn't get a picture before I ruined it.

Probably the prettiest pi sign I've ever made. Normally I just screw it up. Proud ;)

A simplified version of the Sierpinski triangle

Before I filled it out :)

A simplified version of the Mandelbrot set with colour effects ;)

Comparison with 'the real deal'
Pinkie with alpha, beta, omega, lambda and rho next to the Mandelbrot set before colour effects

The stuff I used to make this mani: my mixing palette aka my calender, a small brush, nail polish thinner so the polish was easier to work with on the brush and didn't get too thick too fast and polishes: Kiko: no. 333, 235, 240 & 296, Depend: no. unknown(the red one), 34 & 247(I think), Gosh: 600 Matt Effect Top Coat & Special Edition 001 Lavender Love, Barry M: 302 Fuchia, Rival de Loop: no. 30 & La Femme Beauty: 133 Ultra Magents

While I was doing this mani I managed to break my brand new glass nail file :'(

Anyway, what do you think?
And of course, enjoy your holiday :)

Lacquers I used yesterday

Hey guys
I lined up the lacquers I used last night to the sponging. Here you can see them :)

The Depend without a visible number is the green to the right

My first sponging + more

Today I came up with this cute design but the tape I used to make straight lines ruined the polish a bit because it wasn't dry enough.
I used the lacquers from Pieces - Soul Petrol, Highland Green & Red Berries and from H&M - White
Anyway, I ended up removing this mani quite fast and made a mani with stripes and sponging gradient.
This is my first time to try sponging - at least on nails :b I think it went pretty well except that the neon colours on my pinkie became too dark because there were too many layers of different neon colours.
The colours I used are:
Depend - no. 34, 35, 54, 131, 133, 159, 193, 223, 247, & that green colour again where the number has been worn out
H&M - Purple
Pieces - Red Berries
Models Own - Purple Mystique
Rimmel - Lycra Pro 312 Ultra Violet, 60 Seconds 605 Purple Reign & 60 Seconds 825 Sky High
Kiko - 333
Barry M - 308 Berry Ice Cream
Tiger - no. 17
Sally Hansen - Blue Me Away!
Essie - Turquoise & Caicos
Gosh - 597 Miss Minty
Rival de Loop - 55

Older manicures

I have a couple of pictures of older manicures that I would also like to share.
About three weeks ago I did this manicure:
As you can see I took the photo a couple of days after I made it at it doesn't look that good, but anyway here it is.
I used the following colours in this order to make horizontal stripes:
Pieces - heavy metal
Tiger - colour no. 17
Depend - no. 45
Gosh - 572 Golden bronze
Pieces - Golden chokolate

On top I used Depends crack polish in black. This manicure looked great together with my totally cute giraffe ring and clothes in the style of safari ;)

A little less than a week before I made this manicure. It's the same design as the one you've just seen but with different colours.
For this mani I used the following lacquers to make the stripes in this order:
Gosh - 597 Miss Minty
H&m - Blue (as i recall)
Sally Hansen - 130 Blue Me Away!
Gosh - special edition no. 001 Lavender Love
Rimmel - Lycra Pro no. 312 Ultra Violet
Rimmel - 60 seconds no. 605 Purple Reign

On top I used Depends purple crack polish and finished it off with Gosh - no. 600 Matt Effect Top Coat which is a polish I really adore.

A last mani for now is one I made back in March.
I know it's not pretty around my nails but that's how much I bothered to remove :b
The lacquers used is:
H&m - Pure White
Depend - no. 199, 196 and 54
Rival de Loop - no. 55 (i think, it's a long time ago now :b)
Gosh - 556 Cool Blue

If you have any ideas for what I should do next please write me a comment and I will be happy to make it as good as I can.
